What I've learned today 5-21-2010

My Malamutes have outsmarted me again, working together to loosen the door to their kennel and escape.

My neighbor is not very fond of my pond destroying Mallys.

There is a good way to get hit by a car and Mia lucked out.

A couple weeks of quiet and rest (go ahead and laugh, I did when the vet told me that's what she needed). I asked for Doggie xanex but apparently they don't make them.

Self tanner+tears=a ridiculous facial complexion. Hello Zebradom.

Abby can stop a hundred squirmy first graders when she sings.

Washing oversized comforters in your bathtub is not nearly as fun as I remember it being when I was a kid.

Mandisa has written a very beautiful new song "He is with You"

I have some of the very best flashlight holders in the whole world. You know who you are. Thank you.

My diet coke addiction is stronger than I thought.

Hey look I'm still drinking water...just some soda on the side.

Writing, even if it's about silliness, makes me feel better.

  1. When Abby stops the first graders is that because she's so good or so awful? Inquiring minds have to know!

They do make a calming med for dogs, but it's been so long I don't remember what it was called. It was an herbal supplement in a drop form, and I remember something about lilacs or lavendar? Gently pinching the base of the ear between your thumb and fingers with your thumb on the inside and repeatedly gently sliding up the ear(base to tip) in a slow, gentle way, like a massage motion, is very calming too.

  2. Abby has the most melodic voice I think I have ever ever heard. She needs lots of lots of work and practice, but she opens her mouth and it just sort of takes your breath away.
She was in a school play and everything kept messing up and the kids were so rowdy. The music teacher said "Abby get up and do your song" and so she belted out one of Taylor Swifts songs, it was so pretty. Everybody stopped. I thought I was recording it, but I had it paused :0(
Mia has made it thru so far without killing herself. She is full of so very much energy! It is wild! I will try to find that herbal remedy. Thanks so much Mary! It means a lot to me that you would take the time to read.
